Bridge Inspection Services include all methods as defined in BIRM and CFR 650. This includes Seven (7) types; Initial (Inventory), Routine (periodic), Damage, In-Depth, Special,(Interim), Fracture Critical, Underwater. The frequency of these inspections is by Manual for Condition Evaluation of Bridges, Section 3.2.
Inventory Inspection must enter SI&A data within 90 days after completion of work for State and Federal bridges and 180 days for all others.
Routing Inspections are required to be performed within 24 months of the previous inspection.
Damage Inspection occurs when damage due to vehicular collisions, environmental factors such as scour, etc.
In-Depth Inspections have six requirements
Special Inspection (interim)
Fracture Critical must be performed every 24 months
Underwater must be performed every 60 months
